We are a pioneer in sustainability education, helping schools and school districts develop engaging, results-oriented programs.
CELF Can Make a Difference—With Your Help
CELF supports teachers and administrators in providing the education on sustainability that our students need.Since 2003 CELF has had a transformational impact on education in schools throughout the tri-state region and beyond. We bring flexible services that respond to the specific needs of each school or school district. We have:
- Worked with over 1,000 teachers and administrators
- Connected over 20,000 students to educational programs that integrate sustainability into their curriculum and classroom culture
- Been recognized for leadership in sustainability education [link to About page paragraph on honors]
- Involved more than 100 schools in our professional development programs, student programming and speaker events
- Built coalitions between stakeholders, connecting leaders in business and higher education with K-12 teachers, parents and students
Growing Awareness Means Growing Demand
Increased awareness of the importance of sustainability has caused demand for CELF’s vital efforts to grow faster than our capacity. Schools and school districts appreciate that we not only educate teachers, but teach them to train other teachers, so that sustainability education can become self-sustaining. It’s a very cost-effective model for achieving a vital goal.
We need your help to reach out and to meet demand! Please assist us to:
- Extend our reach to local schools already clamoring for our services and to schools that will need subsidies to have the same opportunities.
- Scale up CELF’s School Eco-Footprint Program by providing grant support to underserved schools.
- Create a web-based program so schools worldwide can utilize our School Eco-Footprint Program.
- Expand our school consulting program and professional development workshops, bringing insights from universities and corporate innovators to schools seeking to increase green practices and build their green curriculum.
Your support is absolutely critical to our continued efforts.While we do charge fees for some of our services and programs to school districts that can afford it, we rely on generous donations and grants from individuals, corporations, foundations and the government for the majority of our budget. The generosity of our supporters has traditionally allowed us to provide our work at a subsidized rate to many participants.
