2022 CELF in the Field: Activating Sustainability through Community Park Restoration (White Plains, NY)

Join the Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF) and the Westchester Parks Foundation (WPF) for an after-school afternoon of service to support the Clean River Project. Learn how to connect the Big Ideas of Sustainability—such as the Ability to Make a Difference and Community Engagement—to your classroom practices.
Participants in this program will remove plastic waste from the river and surrounding green spaces while they track what they find for ongoing research. This activity will model how to enrich environmental clean-up projects with learning and context. Tools and gear will be provided for all.
