Step Up for Sustainable Schools - Children's Environmental Literacy Foundation

Join us in making a real difference alongside students and teachers as we celebrate CELF’s 20th anniversary in 2023. As we navigate a post-pandemic reality and confront the impacts of climate change, your contribution can directly empower our work with under-resourced school communities.

This year, we’ve launched our pilot microgrant program to help facilitate engaging student inquiry projects with funding for field trips to local green spaces, supplies for starting school gardens, data collection tools, and more. We’re also proud to have hosted our first Student Symposium in Texas this year, featuring dozens of student researchers from 7 schools, as well as a virtual Student Symposium that brought students together from New York, Texas, and Ghana.

Through our work with the Climate Change and Environmental Justice Program, led by Ten Strands with funding from the California Department of Education, CELF is collaborating with teachers to pilot our content with nearly 1,000 K-2 students across the state. CELF hopes to build on this opportunity to continue growing our presence in California as teachers embark on implementing this innovative, student inquiry-driven curriculum in the years ahead, inspiring a new generation of engaged citizens and solutionary thinkers.

But we can’t do this alone. Your contribution today will amplify our impact, providing direct resources and flexible programming to educators and students. Let’s co-construct a healthier, more equitable future together. Step Up for Schools now, and be a part of creating a sustainable tomorrow.

HOW CAN YOU STEP UP?

Donate

Step up for Sustainable Schools, by helping us fill the gap left behind by school budget cuts. Your donation today will help CELF provide teachers with training to integrate sustainability into their curriculum, utilizing innovative, engaging tools that keep kids engaged and excited to learn, wherever they are.

In addition to professional development, our programs offer teachers the opportunity to build community amongst a supportive network of their peers, share resources, and access year-long support from our Educator team.
