Giveaway Alert: Social Tech in (and out of) the Classroom

Plume Labs' Flow Device

CELF recently announced a new partnership with Air Champions – Social Change Scientists (ACSCS) – powered by McMac Cx and Plume Labs – to expand our Civic Science: Inquiry to Action Air Quality program to K-12 schools across the United States.

With generous support of McMac CX, teachers who participate in CELF’s Civic Science program will receive a “Flow” Personal Pollution Monitoring (PPM) device. This pocket-sized tool enables teachers and their students to collect real-time air quality data wherever they are- whether that means the classroom, around the school campus or in their own backyard. The Flow can be paired with any Android or iOS device to access live data readings and detailed maps, reporting back on things like particulate matter, VOCs, and NO2 levels.

By incorporating the portable and reliable Flow device into CELF’s Civic Science program, air pollution data becomes transparent and navigable for students, making it easier for them to connect their learning to a real-world challenge they can see, feel, touch and experience, and develop the skills they need to advocate for change.

Beginning Wednesday 9/9/20, you can enter to win your very own Flow device and one-on-one session with a CELF educator on how we can support integrating this super handy tool into your lesson plans. To enter, head to our giveaway post on Instagram and follow the instructions provided! The giveaway will end on Friday, 9/18/20 at 11pm EST and we’ll announce THREE winners the following Monday.
